Artist Statement
I am a Helsinki based visual artist who works mainly by the medium of oil painting. My painting practice is a process of repetition, where a painting goes often through the hoops of drawing and photographing, finally ending up on the canvas. A singular painting is preceeded by multiple prototypes. This repetition speaks to the ritualistic nature of art practice, to the slowness of discovery, antidote for immidiate satisfaction moder life builds itself on.

Thematically, I often draw from the tensions of mundane feelings, the ordinary horror. I'm pulled to the balance of tenderness and terribleness of lived every day experiences. I am interested in bodily sensations, bodies, the actions and practices, and the meanings we tie to sensuos experiences and phenomena. Each project has it's unique focus, but these core features are something I try and translate accross them all.
